I'm Melissa, the OG Wondermum - I coined this phrase years ago because I've spent my whole motherhood journey either wondering how I could do everything better or simply rejoicing in the complete wonder & awe of it all!

Being a mother was the only thing I knew I wanted to do (until I found Pilates).

I also felt a deep calling (from a very young age) to guide other women through the wonderful journey that is birth & motherhood!

It's just in me.

My personal journey

(just a quick summary) involves having 2 babies in my twenties (prior to finding Pilates) and 2 more babies in my thirties, with Pilates in my life. Integrated, embodied & excited!

Guess what?

I recovered from birth (physically & emotionally) WAY better in my thirties!!

I could (& can still in my 50's) jump on a trampoline without wetting myself (yet I couldn't after having the girls in my twenties) and healed a slight ab separation  (thanks to my belly looking like the front end of jumbo!!) after my fourth baby and was in the best shape of my life... all AFTER 4 kids!

WHY?

Pilates + Passion + Purpose

(all three are imperative)

Pilates is the how, the passion drives our commitment & the purpose is the why.

It's an analogy for life really, which is why I felt emotionally better in my thirties. I had real purpose (in addition to my motherhood dream) to help other women discover what I had!

Fast forward and I've now helped thousands of women recover their pelvic floor, their ab separation and their sanity!

Sometimes women would return to the studio with me almost immediately after birth, sometimes they'd find me years later (& realise they still had issues without specific repair work) yet these exact same techniques would help them all. Every single Woman got results. A re-connection to a disconnect that she often didn't even realise was happening since birth.

(I remember helping one mama recover from issues 12 years later!!)

The point is....It's never too late to start this healing journey to reclaim your body (& mind).

It's also never too early to start preparing, if you're planning a baby!

Wow..I really F$&king enjoyed that…I kept putting it off thinking that it would take up too much of my time and I wouldn’t complete a full session so there would be no point in starting…but I know I won’t feel myself until I feel strong in my core again, so knowing that I have the option to do a quick class (or a few) will suit me perfectly, I’m so excited now - Mum on a mission!!!! Now don't get me wrong, I've got awesome solutions, but that doesn't mean that it has always been roses for me. 

Life throws lessons at us all the time.

The motherhood journey is a lifetime long.

My children are now 27, 25, 19 & 17.... so I know.

I'd be lying if I said it was all just peachy!

Yet I bloody love it. All of it.

Each video in each stage (1-3) are in 5-10 minute increments, so that you can do what you have time for, or add them all together to create a 20 min workout around Bub’s schedule.

It’s really Important that you commence in stage 1 for the first 2 weeks*, then move onto stage 2 when the indications are that you’re ready for it. *if well indicated, you could move to stage 2 earlier

 

Each stage is specifically designed to help you heal and recover your pelvic floor connection, your abdominal separation (if you have any) and restore your nervous system and body confidence.

  •  There will also be a series of Post-natal full & flowing workouts to do once you’re at stage 3 onwards 
  •  These are replays of the live classes we have done during lockdown & are about 20-30 minutes in length, sometimes 40min.
  •  From time to time, we may choose to load short video workshops / instructional videos in response to questions from members. This will grow over time as a further additional resource.
  •  Please don’t attempt the stage 4 & 5 (flowing workouts with chest lifting / forward flexion) until all indications are that you are ready for it and can do so without causing your abdominals to separate!
  •  Developing the art of feedback is critical before you start stage 4 & 5. This awareness will develop as you complete the course in the order it was designed.
